Oceanship – Hotblack Video (HD)

more about “Oceanship – Hotblack Video (HD)“, posted with vodpod

I have rediscovered Oceanship ! ! ! Yay ! ! !

I think its funny that I haven’t really listened to their stuff in a longtime (not since I was sick, I think), but I can put their album on and instantly remember the melody, the lyrics and the emotion that their music conjured up inside of me a result of that time that I was sick.

I am looking forward to purchasing their first full length, self-titled album and seeing how much the duo (Carly and Brad) have grown as musicians. The above vid. is a single off their new album, called “Hotblack”.

You can find their website at: http://www.oceanshipmusic.com

BTW, I was messaging Brad the other day on Myspace about my screenname and he seemed super nice and down to earth.

being kate

10 01 2009

Well, I think I am on the verge of finding my new favorite show for 2009. Its called “being Erica”. I could see some of myself in the main character as I slowly get closer to the age that Erica is supposed to be in the show.

The last five years have taught me a lot about who I am and what really matters the most and I feel fortunate that I have learned these lessons already. Now I just to have figure out how to continue to move in a forward and (more importantly) upward direction.

Does that make sense?

Below is the trailer for the for the show.

Enjoy!!

21 Thoughts

9 01 2009

Here is my list of random thoughts from this morning. I might do this again. We will have to wait and see. Maybe I will shorten the list next time, though.

2. Can I have another?

7. If my family is GMT+13 and I’m not, does that mean I’m stuck in the past?
8. I wonder what my relatives are doing right now around the world?
9. Why do my logitech earphones say “customizable colour preferences”, but they have only given me three extra colour choices for one out of two ears in the box?
10. I like chocolate, but I don’t love it.
11. I should have salad for lunch today.
12. I need another tea or coffee to help me wake up.
13. Whatever.

Steven Binko and The Escape

7 01 2009

So, tonight Steven Binko (of www.stevenbinko.com) aired the second episode of The Escape. As he describes it, “it is the first internet reality show of its kind”, which is hosted exclusively on blogTV @ http://wwww.blogtv.com/people/binko101. The show, originally taped the week of Decemer 15th, took contestants to a random location where they competed in challenges, to gain clues which would ultimately aid in their escape.

Sound like its been done before?

Wrong. This show is completely interactive for fans. It is the fans that decide what the contestants will eat, what rewards will be given, what plot twists will be put in play and even how the contestants will eventually be voted off, but that’s not all. Check out the Interactive Polls in the forums for a complete list of each poll.

I was bummed last week when I missed the first “recorded” episode, but I have to say that I was very impressed with what I saw tonight of Episode 2. It seemed to be well structured and beautifully editted. There is also a cliffhanger for next weeks episode… I hope my schedule is such that I can watch it live with everyone else. :-)

BTW: The Escape seems to be airing Tuesdays between 9 and 9:30 PM EST. Click here to go directly to the show.

A Wall.E Moment

4 01 2009

So, I recently splurged and bought myself a copy of Wall.E on DVD. It is a movie that I did go see in the theatre, but, unfortunately, I ended up falling asleep. Since purchasing it, however, I have seen it 3x and have come to love it. Its funny and sweet and extremely sentimental in its depiction of love and the human spirit.

It got me thinkng though. Have you ever had a Wall.E moment? A brief moment in time when you discovered how truly nuts people on planet Earth are when it comes to the conveniences of modern day technology? I have when I think about emailing a co-worker who is right down the hall from your office or shopping online for things like clothes and groceries. Can you think of more examples?

Zero Emission No Noise: A Canadian Hidden Treasure

7 10 2008

I was looking around YT for Rick Mercer vids and came across this story from last season (I believe).

Its a Canadian-made electric car which like the name states has been tested to ensure zero emissions and is completely silent while running. Only the click as you turn the key tells you that the car is actually running and operational… very cool…. very weird…. and totally Canadian, but there is, however, a catch for Canadian wannabe owners… this car has not been fully legalized in Canada.

At the time that the this story was made the only province that had legalized this car was British Columbia. This is because the ruling of legalizing this car is up to the individual provincial governments and not at the federal level. To me this is a shame. I would have thought that this would be a worthwhile environmental initiative for Harper to jump on board with.

Is This Our Future?

10 09 2008

By definition “haptics” is the enhanced world of virtual reality. What this means to you, as the potential user, is that the computer generated world of VR is experienced not only by the user’s hearing and sight, but by the use of all the user’s senses. Can you imagine being in a virtual bakery and smelling fresh bread wafting from the oven? Mmmm. Yum!!

There are all kinds of people exploring VR technology and the Nintendo Wii has brought us all one step closer.

Video Titled: Future Thought’s Haptics

Editors Note: I will try to make these entries a little more in-depth from now on, but bare with me as I try to come out of my writer’s block.

The All Natural Drink!!

5 09 2008

So, I’m sitting here, in front of my computer, drinking my 2nd RedBull that I’ve ever had (see 411 in the sidebar >>) and came across this vid. by Truenuff.

On other juice related matters: the so called “experts” now say you should minimize your intake of juice because of all the added sugar that may or may not be in there. When I was a kid, I grew up on the stuff (as I’m sure many of you did too). I would have apple or orange juices instead of pop, on a regular basis, completely unaware of the so called high sugar content that was found in both the natural sugars and those pesky added ones. It tasted good. That was all that mattered.

Now that I am living in the real world and more aware of what I am putting into my body, I do consciously try to limit my intake of juice, but have you ever tried to find “no added sugar” and/or “aspertaine free” juice in the supermarket. It is next to impossible. One is much better off buying, yet another appliance to store in the back of the kitchen cubard and making ones own juice.
